Special education services pick up where early intervention services leave off, at age 3.The focus of special education is different from that of early intervention. While early intervention addresses your child’s overall development, special education focuses on providing your child with an education, regardless of disabilities or special needs. The document that spells out your child’s needs and how these needs will be met is the Individualized Education Program (IEP). The IEP describes your child’s strengths and weaknesses, sets goals and objectives, and details how these can be met through task analysis. The IEP is almost entirely related to how the needs of your child will be met within the context of the school. |
Primary —
At Primary level, we serve children from 3 to 5 years of age in small group settings and the curriculum is developmentally appropriate. The preschool objectives include encouraging and assisting children in the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and communication skills along with the sensory development in order to become independent learners.
Elementary —
At elementary level, the classroom environments are rich in academics, art, and culture and reflect many hours of creative work and preparation by Special Education teachers.
